A board-certified ophthalmologist and the new director of the TZM Headache and Eye Center. She is the former director of Neuro-Ophthalmology at Temple University School of Medicine. She has the distinction of being a member of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology AND the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. He received a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, in Biochemistry from Harvard University, and her M.D. degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.

He completed her Ophthalmology training at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. during which time she was given the Award for Research. She then went on to pursue dual specialized fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology at St. Christopher’s Hospital For Children in Philadelphia and in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania. He has multiple medical awards and publications to her name. Her most recent publications include “Fourth Nerve palsy, homonymous hemianopia and hemisensory deficit caused by a proximal posterior cerebral artey aneurysm” published in the Journal of Neuro-ophthalmology, “Current neuro-ophthalmic therapies” published in Neurologic Clinics.

He also loves to teach. In the past, she has served as visiting lecturer to Beaver College and provided a complete ophthalmology training course to their physician assistant students. Her numerous ophthalmology lectures to medical students, interns, residents and colleagues at many hospitals over the years have always been popular and well-attended. He has always taken special pride over the years in the one-on-one teaching she has provided to ophthalmology colleagues, residents and students who have rotated through her offices.

As a neuro-ophthalmolgist, He has seen a great number of patients with permanent vision loss from optic nerve disease and other refractory eye disorders (such as macular degeneration). In addition, a significant number of neuro-ophthalmology patients suffer from migraines, and chronic head/eye pains. Many of these people experience side effects from their pain medication or have no significant relief from medications alone.

With a determination to help these types of patients, He began to explore the world of medical acupuncture. He successfully completed the intensive UCLA/ HMI medical acupuncture training course for physicians. He now has the distinction of being one of ONLY A HANDFUL of board-certified ophthalmologists who have completed the appropriate training and therefore have the privilege of incorporating acupuncture into ophthalmology practice. Now, He is able to combine her expertise in neuro-ophthalmology and acupuncture to offer new hope to patients in ways not before possible.
